What do a former Ringling clown and a children's author have in common? They're coming together to entertain YOUR children this summer with a WILD Animal Adventure! We're pleased to offer this new, free program for our patrons in partnership with Page Turner Adventures. From comedy shows to cooking, this interactive program is sure to entertain. There will be a new adventure each weekday for all EIGHT weeks of summer reading.
AUTHOR DAY: Christina Soontornvat
Christina Soontornvat is an award-winning author, engineer, and STEM educator. Her many works for children include picture books and the Diary of an Ice Princess chapter book series. Her middle grade fantasy novel, A Wish in the Dark, and All Thirteen: The Incredible Cave Rescue of the Thai Boys’ Soccer Team were both named 2021 Newbery Honor Books. We are thrilled to talk with Christina fresh off her TWO Newbery Honor wins (and Sibert Medal win). We’ll chat about several of her books including. All Thirteen: The Incredible Cave Rescue of the Thai Boys’ Soccer Team. While not technically animal-themed, it is a fantastic book and the name of the soccer team is the Wild Boars. So, hey, it works!
