9/11 Remembrance Ceremony
Join the City of Smyrna for a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony to mark the 20th Anniversary on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Veterans Memorial Park.
This Smyrna 9/11 ceremony is coming together to honor the men and women who gave their lives in the tragic attacks of 2001. With the members of public safety, city administration, and citizens coming together, we will remember the lives of our fallen heroes.
The ceremony will start at 8:30 am and will open with the audience rise for the presentation of the colors from the Smyrna Fire and Police Honor Guard.
Both Smyrna’s Police and Fire Chief will say a few words followed by descending sirens. A representative from the Mayor and Council will say a few words.
Once all speech is concluded one FD Honor Guard and one PD Honor Guard will approach the memorial wreath and move it to its posting spot in front of City Hall. This will conclude the ceremony.
