Genealogy Beginner’s Workshop: “Preparing to DO Genealogy!”

Genealogist Laura Halls introduces basic preparation and organization that will help you start researching in the most effective way. She will provide a brief overview of tools and programs available to the genealogist as well as the following topics:

• general standards
• file folders
• binders and digital organization
• reference material and forms
• research plans and logs.

Speaker Biography:  Laura Halls worked for IBM for 35 years. After retirement, she started genealogy research in 2015; and it is now her favorite past time. Laura attended various classes and webinars through the years, developing skills as she went along. Laura is on the Cobb County Genealogy Society Board and is a member of DAR, LGAR, KY Historical Society, and genealogy societies of GA, KY, and OK.
