Traffic Impact Notice: For morning of Sat., April 15, 2023 for Annual Jonquil City Jog

  • Date: 04/15/2023 7:00 AM - 9:30 AM

TRAFFIC IMPACT NOTICE (Sat., April 15 am):

Please expect traffic delays and access at several intersections around City Hall and along Atlanta Road from our downtown area to Campbell Middle School to be temporarily delayed between 7:45 am and 9:15 am this Saturday – April 15, 2023 for the annual Jonquil City Jog. Traffic will be managed by the Smyrna Police Department with a plan to keep vehicles moving along Atlanta Road through marked lane shifts. Ability to cross/enter Atlanta Road, however, will be delayed while runners are on the course. Traffic along Concord Road near Atlanta Road and traffic on Spring near Atlanta Road will be delayed. Streets approaching and around City Hall will be closed for a longer period of time but will reopen following all Jonquil City Jog activities. Please plan accordingly and follow the directions of officers.

Signage is posted this week at intersections along the course to alert you to the temporary lane and intersection access closures. We thank you for your patience as participants run the course to raise funds for Support Smyrna and the Campbell High School Educational Foundation.

The course begins at City Hall and follows a route behind the Community Center to Atlanta Road. Runners will then enter Atlanta Road, cross over Concord/Spring and continue down Atlanta Road to Campbell Middle School where the course returns and crosses over Concord/Spring again before leaving Atlanta Road at Church where it moves into our downtown via King Street. The area in front of and around City Hall will be closed to vehicles as the 1-mile fun run begins following the 5K. Once the 1-mile (that loops around City Hall) finishes, vehicle access to the streets along the back side of City Hall will open, but the area in front of City Hall as well as a portion of Bank Street will remain closed for the Tot Trot and the awards ceremony. King Street will reopen following event cleanup.
