Three local authors will discuss their own experiences seeking publication and share insights about the state of children’s literature today. November is National Novel Writing Month in which writers and aspiring writers are challenged to write a novel in just one month’s time. Get inspiration for your own writing goals from these talented writers.
Kristine F. Anderson earned a Ph.D. in Communicative Arts from Georgia State University. Crooked Truth, a coming-of-age novel set in 1948, received the Ferrol Sams Fiction Award from Mercer University Press. It was nominated for the 2021 Willie Morris Southern Fiction Award, and she was nominated for the GEORGIA WRITERS 2021 Author of the Year Award in the debut novel category.
Debbie D’Aurelio writes with a blend of humor and honesty and often combines fact with fiction in her stories, including her middle grade novel, The Secret Notebook (Capstone, 2020). She worked in advertising for 20 years, where she developed mini-stories for national brands. She’s lived in five states, along three coasts, and now calls Marietta, Georgia home.
