Join us for a fun craft session to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Amate is an ancient tradition of paper making from Mexico, made from the pulp of the fig and mulberry trees. In the State of Guerrero, amate paper is brightly decorated with beautiful scenes depicting everyday life of the villagers, such as the harvest, fiestas, weddings, religious customs and wildlife.

Instructor bio: Ana Hogan grew up in Mexico City and continues celebrating Mexican customs in Atlanta with her family and friends. Ms Hogan, a Smyrna Library volunteer, has led three previous art workshops for the library.
