Information for Citizens of the State Level Legislative Annexation - Hawthorn Area (near downtown Smyrna)
Elected officials and City staff met with residents who reside in the area of a state level legislative annexation (Hawthorn area near downtown Smyrna) on Sunday, June 6, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at Fire Station 1 on Atlanta Road. - For 2021, residences will continue as in the past, receiving their tax bill from Cobb County. Beginning in 2022, they will receive Separate property tax from Cobb County, and the City of Smyrna.
- Residents have until April 1, 2022 to apply for their floating Homestead, senior, or disability exemptions with the. City. These could be applied for at City Hall (Link to forms/information on Exemptions / Tax FAQ )
