The Racial Trust Building Initiative announced by Mayor Norton kicked off in March 2021 with facilitated workshops. Each group consisted of representatives from the Mayor and Council, City staff, and members of the community. Two groups completed training amongst themselves then came together for a joint conversation and final day of training. 

Mayor Norton continues the Racial Trust Building Initiative with more facilitated workshops along with a new speaker event called the Racial Trust Building Breakfast Series.
