The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to the City of Smyrna by Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for the comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). Notice of Public Hearings and Explanation:
The tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 8.990 mills, an increase of 0.594 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 8.396 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $225,000 is approximately $47.52 and the proposed tax increase for non homestead property with a fair market value of $350,000 is approximately $83.16.
