Chief Keith Zgonc comes to the City of Smyrna as Chief of Police after serving the City of Sandy Springs from 2006 until 2021.

Chief Zgonc began his career in 1991 with the Smyrna Police Department where he reached the rank of Captain before joining the Sandy Springs force. Chief Zgonc is a graduate of the University of Georgia, the Senior Management Institute for Police, and the FBI National Academy, where he currently sits on the Georgia Chapter Executive Board.
